As a born again Christian and a disciple of Christ, I have come to understand and feel the ridicule that I used to pour out on believers prior to my transformation. I used to make fun of tongue-speaking, and Holy ghost filled born again Christians, seeking out any slightest chance to call them names like "Hypocrites", "dull", "archaic", etc. I expected every self acclaimed believer to be perfect in their deeds and actions. There was no room for excuses or mistakes. Now, I know better that you don't have to be perfect to love Jesus. In fact, the more imperfect you are, the more visible His perfection through you. Truth be told, I am not perfect as a believer, and if you are looking for the perfect one? I guess you have to look to Jesus as your role model. I am only loving my Jesus, and I am sensible enough to know that when you truly love someone, you don't intentionally do things to hurt them. Therefore I believe it is high time for people to stop judging Church folks because of a misconstrued perception that Church folks are supposed to be perfect, righteous, holy, non-faltering, and never-making mistakes- individuals. The fact is, in retrospect Church folks (believers, born-again Christians) are the most imperfect people on the face of the earth, but with a difference. The difference being that we realize our weaknesses, our imperfections, our unworthiness, our nothingness, and our in-capabilities. Therefore we chose to lean on the everlasting love, mercy, and grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. You can also join us in this effortless entitlement of grace, if you have not experienced the redeeming and saving power of Jesus.
You can say this prayer:
Oh Lord Jesus, I want to experience your love and mercy in my life from this day forth. I confess that I am a sinner, and I ask you to forgive me for all my sins, I also ask that you may accept me into your fold as a part of your body. Let me experience every gift that you offered through your death and resurrection, the abundant life that you came to give and an everlasting relationship with you. Thank you for loving me even when I did not know you, and thank you for accepting me. Now I confess, I am a new creation in Christ through His blood sacrifice. Amen.
